![]() The First Class director has since given us the highly entertaining Kick-Ass, perhaps we are finally in for a long overdue great X-Men film. ![]() We all know how well that one turned out. Matthew Vaughn was originally tapped to direct X-Men: The Last Stand, but Fox got cold feet two weeks(!) before filming and replaced him with hack-extraordinaire Brett Ratner. It’s just that the whole image looks so hastily put together, we’ll withhold final judgement until we see a high resolution version. We do dig the retro-styling of the costumes, which evoke the classic blue and yellow outfits that the mutant team wore in the 1960s. This is our first glimpse of the characters and there is a lot to like. ![]() The film was released after the original trilogy of. Then again, it’s very hard to argue with January Jones sporting lingerie for an entire film. Don’t get us wrong, First Class has a pretty stellar cast led by Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as Magneto and Professor Xavier respectively - Maybe we were just expecting more from this first picture? First Class is a good character study of the protagonist and antagonist relationship between Magneto and Professor Xavier showing their beginnings, their. We finally have our first look at the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming X-Men prequel, X-Men: First Class, and the result are… well, kind of disappointing.
